TSX – End of Day recap by PleasantLifestyle.com

Posted by samson on Oct 3, 2007 in Stock's World

As mentioned in the morning release, there are two major reports releases today. The Institute of Supply Management nonmanufacturing index and the U.S. Crude Inventory.

The ISM slipped to a 54.8 in September from a 55.0 in August. This just indicated the U.S. economy is slowing down and increased presure on a possible inflation. Many are wondering whether or not the U.S. Federal Reserve would lower interest rates again.

My point of view is that the U.S. government would not allow its economy to enter recession and this ISM report is just one of the early factors in helping them decide whether or not to lower interest rates agin. However, at the sigh of complete denial of interest rates cut, the Canadian and U.S. economies would most likely enter into another recession.

Several signs already exists to a repeatition of the 1990s recession.

Interesting Day in TSX today

Posted by samson on Oct 3, 2007 in Stock's World

There are two reports which could dictate how the stock market will flow today.

Due at 10am, the U.S. Institute for Supply Management’s September non-manufacturing index. The market is expecting a slightly weaker number, then the hopes for an Fed interest cut will increase. Benefits goes to General Market, but not those that are merging with American companies.

The U.S. Crude Inventory Data. Another report that would benefit the market if the results indicated a decline. Benefits goes to Energy Sector.

I believe that both reports would be as market expect it. Toronto Dominion Bank would raise until 10am est, and from that point on, based on the result of the report would decline.

Increase your site or blog’s income with WidgetBucks

Posted by samson on Oct 3, 2007 in Make money online

Recently, I read a post from a pretty good blog John Chow dot com and was introducted to WidgetBucks. It is a pretty amazing service.

It uses something similar to Google Adsense but they call it MerchSense to view over your page, with the results from MerchSense a customized Ad is created for your page.

A typical Ad from WidgetBucks allows you to customize 5 part of it.

1. The Name of the Widget.

2. The location where you are putting the Widget. This is very important considering you can have customized Widget for customized Posts. For example, my post on OpenOffice.org contains a highly customized Widget where the Ads selection is for this page only.

3. The size of the Widget, Since WidgetBucks runs on a CPC model, larger or smaller is all under your control.

4. The color of the Ad Widget. This is very important because you can now customize the look and feel of ads on your page, this way Ads wouldn’t be as scary to users. Can you imagine a Bright Red Ad on a page whose theme color is mostly white? :D

5. Product Ad Selection. As mentioned above, the amazing MerchSense can pick up whatever best suit your page or blog, however if you like, you can manually select the products instead of letting the system decide for you.

Intrigued? Don’t stop yet, currently as a openning promotion, WidgetBucks is giving away $25 to every new member.

For more information go to the WidgetBucks site to check it out or click on the following picture for a directly link.

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, revive your old software for free!

Posted by samson on Oct 3, 2007 in Web Attraction

On a recent browse on the internet, especially the Microsoft’s web page, I’ve noticed a neat piece of software available free of charge. It is the Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. This program is one of the virtualization programs available today for Windows users to have an extra system inside their machine while still using their installed Windows. Virtual PC is an amazing piece of software because it allows for multi system co-existences within a single computer. How is that an advantage to me? You might ask, imagine a piece of software that you have been using happily for the last 10 to 15 years, let’s say good old Lotus 123 (for those of you who have no clue what Lotus 123 is, it is an accounting software). Suddenly your friends brought you a state-of-the-art laptop that is using Windows Vista you’re your birthday, because you have been using Lotus 123 on your 286 that cost you thousands of dollars at the time, you years of data written just of that software.Obviously you would try to migrate the software to your new laptop right? Or else you might have to redo the last 10 years of accounting books from scratch. During installation of your Lotus 123 program, it was complaining about missing dependencies and was looking for a MS-DOS 5.0 driver. At that point you are completely lost in the world of software techno-babble. Because you have no idea what the heck is going on, you took your laptop back for services and have their technicians install Lotus 123 for you. The technicians suggests, after reviewing your software, that you buy another accounting software and redo everything from scratch. If you do your own accounting books, at this point you will be like “I’d rather stick to my 286 then…”.But don’t give up yet, this is why this post exists. With Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 you can bring your old system INTO your new system. Sounds confusing eh? It isn’t really. What it means is taking the software portion of your old system and virtualizes it. Once virtualized, the software portion exists in a Virtual Machine. This machine is part of your main system, so you can run all your old programs on your main system without further alterations. What you need to do is create a Virtual Hard disk on your system using Virtual PC, and on that Virtual Hard Disk install your old Operating Systems. Then install all your old programs on top of this Operating System. And Viola! You took your old antique system and transferred it into your new system. Advantages:
Your Old System, let’s say a 286 was running at less then 33 MhZ. Your need system, if running at 1 GhZ, you just increased the speed of your software by almost 30 times.
Your old software are now virtualized, so in the future if you upgrade your system again, all you have to do is copy the vhd file over and your system will come with you.
Disadvantages:
You need to load up your laptop’s OS first before you can access your virtual System.
Works on Windows Xp Professional and Up, Windows Xp Home is not included.
If you corrupt your primary OS, both system dies with it. (So back up your Virtual system periodically)
So head over to get the Software right away!Get Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.
