Stock's World
S&P/TSX rose 104.26, closed at 14125.11, an increase of 0.74%.
Research In Motion (RIM.TO) announced that it earned approximately 50 cents per share for the three months ending September 1st. This is an increase from 25 cents per share same period last year. This caused RIM’s stock prices to have a gain of 4.28 Cdn, at a closing price of 100.30 Cdn. This seems to indicate RIM’s stock price would eventually rise back to the point around 200′s, a price level that seizes to exists after the stock split. However, considering the split occurred on August 15th, 2007. With a closing price on that day of 71.19, RIM’s monthly gain is almost 10 Cdn per month. However, it is still in my high risk Stock section, considering its rivals are Apple Inc, LG, Nokia, and Motorola. While most of its rivals still have other products as a backup in sales, RIM’s primary product is also its only product, the Blackberry mobile phone.
Mark Carney will succeed David Doge as the governor of the Bank of Canada. Dodge’s seven-year term expires in January, and therefore Carney’s term begins on Feb 1st, 2008.
Just who is Mark Carney? He holds a PhD in Economics from Oxford University, before joining the government of Canada, he was the managing director of Goldman Sachs Canada’s investment banking division. Once he started working for the Canadian government, he became the deputy governor at the Bank of Canada from August 2003 to November 2004. In 2004, he was appointed the senior associate deputy minister of finance by the Deputy Minister of Finance at the time, Ian E. Bennett. Carney was also the deputy for G7 affairs. During 2004, the government’s 19% stake in Petro-Canada was sold for 3.2 Billion Canadian, Carney was also behind this strategy.
Friday would be another exciting day, the September’s Jobs report will be release and this report along would show signs in indicated what type of closing we’ll have for the day tomorrow and what to expect for the next week or so.

For several of my political babble post on the Ontario’s Liberal Party, I need to integrate some videos into them. However, due to the fact that I am using WordPress 2.2.2, not all plug-in available works. After spending nearly the entire day searching for a solution, I came across a site that described the inclusion of Youtube video as the very basic common sense, that is why it works. The technique is simple, just code it in as html. The post at howtospoter.com describes how to insert the Youtube videos manually and after testing it, I am sure it works.
If I wasn’t such a lazy person, who preferred to make the least amount of changes possible, I’d stick to TheSpot-er’s suggestions and change my user settings every single time. Too bad I am. So I went on another hunt for a easier piece of code that doesn’t requires switching back and forth between Visual and Code editors.
After banging my head on all the major wordpress plugin pages, including those that were translated into English by Google translate, I’ve found one that works perfectly and easy to install. It is Viper’s Video Quicktags. Once you installed the plugin, it adds several buttons to your Visual Editor, all you have to do then is locate your cursor where you want the Youtube video to be, click on the youtube button, and paste the Youtube Video’s URL into the pop up box.
Once you publish the page, viola instant embedded Youtube Video on your Post.
An example would be like this…

Politics babble
Its getting closer and closer to Election day, Oct 10th 2007. And Ontarians will be scrambling towards voting booths everywhere in Ontario to vote for their favorite candidates.
Before you cast that precious ballet, why not take a look at what each of these Candidate did during their campaign and see if they still deserve your devotion?
First Target – Liberal Candidate, Dalton McGuinty.
The following are some clips I found on you tube. It is rather amusing. Considering Mr. McGuinty was trying to promote himself by stating how his competition isn’t a on the same level as he is.

The funny thing is, how the rest of the crowd reacted. You can hear very clearly, those that cheered the loudest are the ones that are affected the most.

He’s been what? Oh mine…

Too many questions in this, but a promise is a promise. If you can’t keep a promise, don’t make one. I was laughing aloud when I saw the first two videos, but the last one brought up a concern. If I all the coal burning plants were stop, how are we going to replace the lacked electricity? Build more Nuclear plants? Buy from the U.S. who has more coal burning Power plant? Have Northern Ontario live without Electricity for the next 5 to 10 years?

At 8:41AM October 4th, 2007. A New report just came out from AP Economics. U.S. Jobless claims Jump by 16,000. Former U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan have revised his estimated of 30% chance of entering in recession to a higher rate of near 50%, his decisions are based on the financial market turmoil recently in August.
Due to the high Jobless rate, many investors believe it is possible that U.S. Federal Reserve will decide to cut interest rate further.
Because of these two supposedly bad news on the U.S. market, investors may decide to reinvest into the financial markets and other sectors.
My predictions for the TSX today would be Toronto Dominion will have a +-0.5% gain, TSX in general will raise due to Wall Street raising.

Everyone knows that for a blog or website to obtain a decent income, the traffic volume must be measurable in the thousands if not ten-thousands. Traditionally web masters would use banner exchange or other 90′s version of traffic increasing techniques. However with today’s technologies, particularly Google’s Search engine, banner exchange wouldn’t increase your rankings much.
However if there is a permanent link on other blogs on the web, Google’s crawler would count that to your advantage.
So, how do I insert a link to my blog onto other people’s blogs? Use a Trackback or Pingback.
Optiniche.com here have a pretty good tutorial on creating trackbacks and pingbacks.
I wrote my first trackback after reading that article.
