Life's little pleasures
Recently, I was reading an article on putting YouTube videos on to your home T.V. system with an Apple TV. What I don’t understand is why is it such a big fuss? YouTube on your TV can be easily done with any computer that have a TV Out and an Internet connection. Then it hit me, not everyone knows how to navigate to YouTube on a browser!
Well, what if I have an alternative solution, that doesn’t require a computer system or an AppleTV? It’ll take some configuration at first but its easy to access once setup properly! This means even your grandma can watch YouTube videos whenever she want! My solution, Read more…

Money Talks,
Stock's World
For those who have been following the stocks market, I am sure you are aware of dropping trend current experienced by Dow Jones Industrial and the TSX/S&P composite index.
TSX, cumulatively dropped 142.83 points since the Market open on Monday, October 15th. There were many reasons to this sudden drop, on the list is the BoC (Bank Of Canada) maintaining its interest rates without a cut or a raise, another important drag is the neighbor’s Dow Jones.
The Dow dropped a cummulative of 180.14 points since the Market reopen on Monday. On the list that of reasons, the one that stood out for me was Bernanke stating that the sub-prime problem is having a larger impact that it should and the funds established by banks to regain the credit lost in the sub-prime problme… So, really, only one problem, Subprime!

Web Attraction
As I head for my desk looking forward to writing another article on pleasantlifestyle.com, I’ve noticed something on my monitor. A piece of yellow paper with the text ‘Mr. X called at 905-xxx-xxxx’ hangs off of the center of my screen. Apparently when I was focusing on the Stocks market and how much the U.S. housing slump is costing me, I missed a call and the person who took the call in my place recorded a message using post-it notes and sticked it on my monitor so I won’t miss it.
Post-it, Notes invented by Arthur Fry and is currently owned and manufactured by 3M is heavily used for such occasions. First marketed back in 1977, Post-it Notes has become something that almost every human have at least wrote one or received one. I personally use the writable notes for message relays and the non-writable ones as book marks.

Random Thoughts
To be honest, the term Eurasian isn’t really that popular amongst most Asians. In Hong Kong, most people’s reaction would be like a commenter on Kahoo.ca, 式奶, where they would simply consider mixed blood to be of a lower level.
It is amazing that some of the ‘mixed breeds’ can bloom without the aid of medicine. Take Anthony Wong for example, his childhood isn’t really one that he is proud of. This type of discrimination exists in most of Asia, including Japan and Korea.
Yet, the first time the term Eurasia appeared before me, I was in Singapore. Interaction with them yield that they are just your typical human being. Maybe because of my education and background, they find me interesting. You know, in Singapore, it is not everyday that they see a pure blood Chinese speaking two languages, English and Cantonese, fluently and with a super heavy North American accent! So I had the chance of finding out more about these people and how they came to be.
Apparently in Singapore, they aren’t as discriminated as their counterparts in Hong Kong or Japan. In Hong Kong, some of the older generations would do anything in their power to stop these Eurasians from attaining anything aside from the bare minimum existential requirements. This is mostly a remanence of Japanese’ hostile take over of Hong Kong during the Second World War and the earlier wars between China and the rest of the Western world. It is easier to hate and pass along that hatred then forgive or forget, especially if you see your friends or families brutally murdered before you.
Now, I believe it is time for everyone to join together to correct the altered histories. May it be Asians, Eurasians or non-Asians. This is the only method that the human race as a whole can relieve that pain we call war and grow towards a better future.

Make money online
Have you ever heard of the saying, Money is the root of all evil? I used to ignore this line, because Money isn’t the only root. However, after reading several pages on John Chow’s website, Market Matatdor and Angel’s website. This line came back in focus.
It started out as a joke around my high school days, it was our introduction class to mathematical proves. A friend of mine found the following prove on the old Internet, the BBS systems.
Proof Girls are evil
Let Money = Evil^(1/2) …(1) (Money is the root of all Evil)
Let Time = Money …(2) (Time is Money)
Let Girls = Time x Money …(3) (Girls requires time and money)
Then, we get
Time = Evil^(1/2) …(Sub 1 with 2) …(4)
Girls = Evil^(1/2) x Evil^(1/2) …(Sub 3 with 2, 4) …(5)
Therefore Girls = Evil (5, definition of ^)
At the time, I was simply smiling, because it is funny, but it didn’t really make much sense. Because the equal sign is a bidirectional sign, so Money is root of all evil must also mean root of all evil is money. Yet that is not the case with life. If that last sentence lost you, don’t worry, its the curse of a mathematic student, me, just continue on and ignore that line. This fact stayed true until I was proven wrong once again by John Chow.
As an Internet surfer since the early 90s, I am immunized to most Internet marketing strategy. It is not like I intentionally skip it, I simply grew to ignore them. However, JohnChow’s evil marketing strategies did get my attention. It wasn’t the Ad Words that he used, nor is it the colors or pictures, it is the articles that caught my attention. I especially liked the evil marketing scheme page on his site. He used humor to sell his ideas across, and simply talks the reader into believing they can earn as much money as he does.
So, yes, Money is the root of all evil, and root of all evil will bring you money. As we all know John just got himself a girl, we now know where his money came from eh?
