Amazing Tool, the Wii.

Posted by samson on Aug 7, 2009 in Road to Pleasant future

Wow, I just lost my 1000th Calorie and its only been several days since I’ve started this new game, called EA Sports Active.

This little program is really amazing, it uses the Wii remote and nun-chuck to detect one hand and one leg. So, the system actually have more lower body building exercises then other software, such as those on PCs or PS2s…

It uses many ‘encouraging’ dialogs, to encourage you, the user, to do exercises. Not to mention the amount of goals settings. It makes a lazy person, such as myself, into a person who wouldn’t mind working 20 to 30 mins a day to both get in shape and attain those goals.

Another feature of this little program is the ability to add your daily chores into account, so, if I did Yard works, household chores, or other sports, they will all be added in to the goal systems.

What I am a bit disappointed is that it cannot ask you for what you have done ‘today’ and alter the exercises according to it. For one example, I am about to start two hours of badminton, the system would not alter the program for today and make it less demanding automatically, or automatically convert itself into a warmup only mode, but instead, records by asking me tomorrow, what I did today.

How fast can you adapt?

Posted by samson on Aug 5, 2009 in Road to Pleasant future

Yesterday, I purchased a Chicken Ceasar Salad with an extra Egg Salad roll on the side, just in case I wasn’t filled by the Salad, it was my first time eating a Salad for lunch.

Well, about one hour after lunch yesterday, I went and consumed the Egg Salad Rolls which I had decided to leave aside for today.

That leaves today’s lunch open, again.

Unlike yesterday, today, I went straight for the Salad bar, with fresher greens then a pre-packaged box of Chicken Caesar. The Salad container is actually the same size, however, for seven bucks, I can add one protein (Egg or chicken) and as much Veggies as I liked.

In my salad today are the following ingredients.

Bacon Bits, Red Onion, Sun Flower Seeds, Red Pepper, Mushroom, croutons, and Tangerines. All on top of a spinach base with chicken pieces. Tossed off in a Tangy Thai Sauce.

Yummy!

What now?

Posted by samson on Aug 4, 2009 in Road to Pleasant future

Recently, I’ve started changing my life style, primarily with the way I indulge food.

Food have always been something that I love. I am sure most people have the same love for food as I do. Otherwise, why work so hard to earn money, right?

However, recent times have change, at least for me. As I get older, it seems I may have let my love for ‘eating’ rule over my generic ability to eat or exercise. So the result is obesity. Honestly, within the last two years, everyone that I knew had either directly or indirectly asked when I have planned to loose weight. It has never really bothered me until this summer, when I noticed one thing.

I have a decent education, of course a honors bachelors is not something that is very ‘distinctive’ but it still puts me at a better stage then the average Joe.

I have a decent job, unlike a friend of mine, who is still stuck at the sweat shop that we both started our careers at.

So what else is there? More indulgence until death? What about my dreams of travelling this planet, and visiting countries that I currently don’t know how to spell?

So, as of August 1st, 2009 I have started a new approach and am currently attempting to change my lifestyle.

My old lunch would usually include things like Fried Onion rings, French Fries, Burger, Bacon, Chicken finger, donuts, Cinnimon rolls, instant dinners, or other meat and salt heavy lunches.

On Friday, my lunch was Subway Melt with lettuce, tomatos, Red Onions and today, my lunch is a chicken ceasar salad, with an egg salad roll, just incase I am not full with the salad. (This will most likely be tomorrow’s lunch as i am already pretty full from the greens and the six pieces of chicken breast.)

Well, a healthy body is also a step towards a pleasant future.
