Make money online
For several of my political babble post on the Ontario’s Liberal Party, I need to integrate some videos into them. However, due to the fact that I am using WordPress 2.2.2, not all plug-in available works. After spending nearly the entire day searching for a solution, I came across a site that described the inclusion of Youtube video as the very basic common sense, that is why it works. The technique is simple, just code it in as html. The post at howtospoter.com describes how to insert the Youtube videos manually and after testing it, I am sure it works.
If I wasn’t such a lazy person, who preferred to make the least amount of changes possible, I’d stick to TheSpot-er’s suggestions and change my user settings every single time. Too bad I am. So I went on another hunt for a easier piece of code that doesn’t requires switching back and forth between Visual and Code editors.
After banging my head on all the major wordpress plugin pages, including those that were translated into English by Google translate, I’ve found one that works perfectly and easy to install. It is Viper’s Video Quicktags. Once you installed the plugin, it adds several buttons to your Visual Editor, all you have to do then is locate your cursor where you want the Youtube video to be, click on the youtube button, and paste the Youtube Video’s URL into the pop up box.
Once you publish the page, viola instant embedded Youtube Video on your Post.
An example would be like this…

Make money online
Everyone knows that for a blog or website to obtain a decent income, the traffic volume must be measurable in the thousands if not ten-thousands. Traditionally web masters would use banner exchange or other 90’s version of traffic increasing techniques. However with today’s technologies, particularly Google’s Search engine, banner exchange wouldn’t increase your rankings much.
However if there is a permanent link on other blogs on the web, Google’s crawler would count that to your advantage.
So, how do I insert a link to my blog onto other people’s blogs? Use a Trackback or Pingback.
Optiniche.com here have a pretty good tutorial on creating trackbacks and pingbacks.
I wrote my first trackback after reading that article.

Make money online,
Money Talks
Ever since we were small, parents, teachers and other adults have been telling us that money does not grow on trees. Yet for some strange reasons, once we grew up, and was introduced to the internet, a lot of us would forget that famous phase and blindly join circles that is obviously malicious in its very nature.
When you think about it, after the initial boom of the Million Dollar homepage, which made quite some money for the owner, the rest of the Million Dollar franchise doesn’t promote much.
When I was reading about the latest of these, the Million Euro Wiki, my first question is, if I purchased a wiki page, so what? There isn’t a real limitation to wiki pages, considering I knew how the Wiki software work in its code base. Obviously, there is a limitation, MySQL database at its max can use BIGINT Unsigned for the Primary Key in a Database table, so you’ll have about 18446744073709551615 Wiki entries. That doesn’t really do much for me if I have 1 page of that big number of entries. Unless I own the wiki in the first place, then if I sell those pages at 1 dollar each, I’d make 18446744073709551615 dollar, for simply selling them.
So, I am not sure what I can, whether the Million Euro Wiki Scam is telling the truth. What I can say is, I still don’t think money would ever grow on trees.

Make money online
Recently, I read a post from a pretty good blog John Chow dot com and was introducted to WidgetBucks. It is a pretty amazing service.
It uses something similar to Google Adsense but they call it MerchSense to view over your page, with the results from MerchSense a customized Ad is created for your page.
A typical Ad from WidgetBucks allows you to customize 5 part of it.
1. The Name of the Widget.
2. The location where you are putting the Widget. This is very important considering you can have customized Widget for customized Posts. For example, my post on OpenOffice.org contains a highly customized Widget where the Ads selection is for this page only.
3. The size of the Widget, Since WidgetBucks runs on a CPC model, larger or smaller is all under your control.
4. The color of the Ad Widget. This is very important because you can now customize the look and feel of ads on your page, this way Ads wouldn’t be as scary to users. Can you imagine a Bright Red Ad on a page whose theme color is mostly white?
5. Product Ad Selection. As mentioned above, the amazing MerchSense can pick up whatever best suit your page or blog, however if you like, you can manually select the products instead of letting the system decide for you.
Intrigued? Don’t stop yet, currently as a openning promotion, WidgetBucks is giving away $25 to every new member.
For more information go to the WidgetBucks site to check it out or click on the following picture for a directly link.
