Today is October 10th, 2007. If you reside in Ontario, please head to your nearest voting office and vote for the provincial election.
If you are not sure who or which party you should vote for, here are some information on the candidates of each party and their leader. The four major parties covered by pleasantlifestyle.com are Liberal, Progressive Conservative (PC), New Democratic Party (NDP) and Green Party.
Also in this election, you are asked to decide where we should be moving to a new style of voting system, the Mixed Member proportional system. This new system allow citizens to cast their vote for parties instead of candidates of a party. This basically means your vote would be counted more and not the traditional method of being ignored if the candidate you voted for did not win in your local zone or ward.
Lastly, Vote! Have your say and not let other people speak for you!

If you are a Canadian, residing in the boundaries of Ontario you are introduced to a new style of voting this time. It is called the Mixed Member Proportional system.
The traditional system that we have been using since the days of Sir John A. is now labeled First-Past-The-Post system. This system only allows voters to vote for the Candidate they would like. So sometimes voters might want to vote for the party the candidate belongs to and therefore voted for this candidate or vice versa.
Under the new Mixed member proportional system, voters can choose to vote for the party they like instead of the candidate they like.
I personally believe this is a rather fairer system to the parties, because then the seats will be divided to the members based on the percentage of votes they have instead of the possible lost of votes in any ward due to a specific stronger candidate.
So, for example, if I were to vote for a candidate in party 1, but party 2 warn, then my vote would no longer be counted in the entire election. Yet under the new system, all I have to do is pick the party and my contribution of that particular party would go straight to benefit the party I voted for in the house and won’t be lost simply because the candidate I voted for didn’t make it.

Lastly, we must talk about the last of the major parties in Ontario’s upcoming election, the Green Party of Ontario.
Final Target - Green Party of Ontario Candidate, Frank De Jong.
To use the name Green, the primary goal of this party must be related to a green environment (Unless it is the last name of the founder of the party, which would be a negative advertisement point).
To be honest, I have been worrying about the climate changes ever since two years ago. At the time, I took a course on geomorphology, and the professor explained that before the last ice age the Don Valley was about two to four degrees higher then the current recorded average. Yet, ever since last winter we in the Toronto and Area have witness warmer weather then what we are used to. Are these signs that mother nature is planning to balance its environment and wipe out the human race?
However, that is still in an idealistic world of ‘We must do something to stop polluting the atmosphere’ yet, the reality is you need a tremendous amount of money to achieve this kind of a goal.
The following are some Ads from the Green party of Ontario. I’ve found them interesting, but some of them, I feel terrible for the actors who starred the Ad. For on example the little girl with the bare feet walking next to sharp tin cans and broken bottles. Yikes!.

Reviews on the Liberal party of Ontario and the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, it’d be rude to leave out the third largest party, the New Democratic Party.
Election day, Oct 10th 2007, is creeping closer and Ontarians will be scrambling towards voting booths everywhere in Ontario to vote for their favorite candidates or party.
As a voter, before you cast that precious ballet, why not take a look at what each of these Candidate did during their campaign and see if they still deserve your devotion?
Third Target - New Democratic Party Candidate, Howard Hampton.
New Democratic Party (NDP), always have their focus on working class. I remember the days of Bob Rae, whom, I personally believe is the best premier of Ontario. Bob Rae started the working Sunday thing, before that, Sunday is always a Holiday. However, that seems to be really against the working class of Ontario because as a working class, I refuse to work on Sunday :p, yet that is ideal for the recession period at the time.
After this many years, finally another NDP leader seems to step up to the plate.
Just in case you didn’t know, PRIDE week is a march of the homosexuals in Toronto. And yes, it is legal to wed same-sex partners. It’d better not be a shock to you if you are a Canadian :p.
NDP on Energy.
This video shouldn’t really be here, but we can see that NDP is still considered formidable enemy by the second largest party in Ontario.
And lastly, get to know Howie Hampton.
