Its exam time!!!

Hey all, it has been awhile since I last wrote anything on this blog. The reason is actually very simple, I was buried with work. Recently, I had the pleasure of returning to school from a different point of view, one that is of a school support staff.

It is amazing, coming from a slightly recent graduate, I found myself best when working for non-profit organizations!! I am actally considering joining the university’s IT help desk, and be very happy about it than when I was a developer for a financial company!!!

Well, I find myself pretty evil as well, as I am writting this inside an exam hall!! What the heck am I doing practoring an exam, you may ask, well I am not! Nor am I writting it, I am here merely as a technical support, as some of the exams may involve computer file submissions, if a student’s laptop were to seize function, it is then my role to attempt a quick fix, or a quick swap, so their exams can be finish on time.

“I have a dream”, the most famous speech ever recorded in the humans right movement. Today, we can say that we are no longer just dreaming, but living in a reality where it does not matter what colour, race, or gender you are, as long as you worked hard you can archieve any goals.

Many years ago, it took an educated man to decide, with a lot of decency that we should not consider our brothers three quarters man. Not because they look different, or they eat different food. We should consider all men and women equal.

With the victory of president Barak Obama, I belive we as a race can now announce to the galaxy that each and every single human is now awake.

What the heck is wrong with our world

Today I actually have the leisure to sit down and enjoyed some tv. This has been a first since a I started a facebook project, but we can talk about that later. On tonight’s news a very particular news bit caught my eye, the reporter was describing a new form of “problems” for not for profit organizations. Appearently, people are ’stealing’ from the clothing donation boxes, and the not for profit organizations are in the spot light stating how this type of theft is adding salt to their wounds, a wound created by lower monetary donations as a direct result of the subprime mortgage crisis.

Frankly, I don’t find myself seeing eye to eye with these ‘organizations’. To me, if your goal and charter states that you should help those who needs it, then does it really matter if the donation has been liquitated? If someone really needs the clothing in your donation box, can’t you not just let them have it? Must you really collect it, transport it, force those who needs it to line up and possibly pay for it? Or do you, the not for profit organizations, have a hidden agenda, where the donations are needed in their liquidated state instead?

(Everytime I see this type of news, a scene pops back into my mind, it was a donation rally for some flood years ago, a spokesperson publicly pleaded that if any one wants to donate, make it a money gram and nothing else. It had something to do with the fact that money is easier to carry or something ;))

Another year, a new begining

Wow, it’s been so long since I last updated this thing! Well, if you have been here before, you’ll notice the page changed alot. I’ve updated the basic wordpress blog system to the latest 2.6 release. Due to this, all my old changes were wiped! Thank God I was able to preserve the database, if not, everything linked to this site will be a 404 error :).

Olympics 2008 Beijing

Lighting of the Olympic torch this time is rather amazing. Imagine this, an person holding the torch running on a moving pavement, at the top of the stadium.

Circulating the stadium, on by running the inner circle of the top, the road in which he treads have the scales of the dragon (the ancestor of the Chinese) which slowly morphs into photos of years of preparation for this event. Just that picture alone is worth more then a thousand words.
