Trick or treat, Trick or treat, give me something good to eat.

Lyrics that comes around every year on the darkest night of the year, HALLOWEEN!

Actually, there are many portions to Halloween preparations. Craving a Jack-O-Lantern is just one of them. You don’t really need one, in fact, I’ve never actually craved one at home. Craved a few in my earlier years and realized it smells pretty bad to repeat.

Even without any Halloween specific decorations, I believe my house is one of the few really liked houses during Halloween. We enjoy seeing children happy and excited, most likely because their cheers and laughters are contiguous and the song lyrics ‘I believe that Children are our future…’. Halloween is a day that children should be allow to act like children and bring home lots of candies.

You might ask, why would I think that my house is one of the few really liked houses in my neighborhood. The reason is simple, we hand out on average four boxes of full sized gums, chocolate bars, or other candies and a few bags of those small packed candies as back-up each year. They can never last till 9 if we start around 7. I remember a few years ago, we purchased Mr. Bigs and handed them out. Some kids were so excited after seeing the full sized Mr. Big they ran towards their parents who was observing from the curb waving the candy and screaming at the top of their lungs ‘Look what I got!’.

Of course when you hand out full sized candies, children would help you spread the word and more children would come. The fastest record for all candies and back-up candies to be gone was 15 min, the first door bell rang at 7:42pm, and the boxes were emptied by 7:57pm. Yep near Two hundred dollars of Candies was gone.

If you are saying that we are insane or that we are spoiling the neighborhood, remember that children would eventually grow up. Once they are in their teens, those tiny packages would no longer attract them. However, the full sized candies would make them knock on your door and not trick you instead. You most likely heard of all the tricks teens can do on Halloween, the following is just a few:

House egging
Toilet paper wrapping
Pet teasing
Lawn destroying
Etc…

I’d rather they take some candy, be happy and go party else where. :D

For this Halloween, I am thinking of the Bertie Bott’s Jelly Beans. Why? This is the closest thing you can get that is from the Magical world of Harry Potter! Yep, this is the same type of Jelly Bean that Harry and Company usually buys on the train to Hogwarts.
