I am awake

Posted by samson on Nov 5, 2008 in Politics babble

“I have a dream”, the most famous speech ever recorded in the humans right movement. Today, we can say that we are no longer just dreaming, but living in a reality where it does not matter what colour, race, or gender you are, as long as you worked hard you can archieve any goals.

Many years ago, it took an educated man to decide, with a lot of decency that we should not consider our brothers three quarters man. Not because they look different, or they eat different food. We should consider all men and women equal.

With the victory of president Barak Obama, I belive we as a race can now announce to the galaxy that each and every single human is now awake.

“I am awake!!”

Driving in the snow…

Posted by samson on Jan 15, 2008 in Road to Pleasant future

It snowed again today in Toronto. Luckily, it is not inches this time. In fact it is most likely disappointing to eager school children who were looking forward to a snow fight.

This time, it is one of the more dangerous type of snow. It wouldn’t stay on the ground as simple white fluff. Instead this time the flakes would melt as it  touches the warmer ground. It is this process that the danger lies. It is below zero outside, and as the snow melts, it might freezes again and therefor forming black ice. With snow that continues to fall, this piece of ice would be covered up and careless drivers or pedestrians might slip on it.

When you are driving or walking in the winter, unless you are sure it is dry land that you are passing on, be cautious and arrive safely at your destination.

Relax, life’s too short to be filled with negative emotion.

Posted by samson on Jan 10, 2008 in Road to Pleasant future

Have you ever gotten into a fight with anyone? Or are you still angry at that driver who sped up just to cut in front of you on your daily drive? What about that telemarketer who calls when you are trying to enjoy a cup of coffee while reading this blog?

If you are like me, you most likely have experienced this negative emotion toward other human beings. Sometimes it might be so bad that you just want to run your foot up their arse just to for the fun of it.

When you are filled with these type of emotions, you have to ask yourself, is it really worth it? Let’s do some simple math, assuming you can live up to be 99 years old. We already know that 1/3 of your life is spend sleeping, so you actually only have 66 years of life.

Now, if we consider education and work, that’s another 1/3 of your life lost. So you really have 33 years of actual life. Now, let’s assume you eat breakfast in 30 min, lunch in 30 min, and diner in 60 min. that’s 2 hours per day for food or 1/12 of your life. That’s 8.25 years lost, just for eating. So now you are down to roughly 25 years. In this 25 years you have to include time for holiday, time to travel, time to write, time to read, time to play, time for courtship, time to have children, time to get married…. you get my point. Do you really have the time for these negative emotions? I don’t.

So, my suggestions is that if you want to live pleasantly, try to never hold grudges, try to forgive and forget and always think in a positive terms instead of negative. Trust me, no one is out there just to pick on you.

Take the driver to sped up just to cut in line for example, it might be that they really have no idea where they are going, Are you sure that the driver intentionally picked you from the busy road that you were driving to cut in line? What if they were new to the city and simply saw a sign that informs them the lane you are in would help them reach their destination?

Thinking in a positive manner sounds unrealistic, but if you can truly accomplish this level of mental control, life would be way better.
