World War 3? You gotta be kiddin right?
At 6:30PM EDT today, U.S. President George W. Bush hints at a possible World War III. The President hints that if Iran goes Nuclear, we might enter into World War 3. Source.
When I first read that article, the first thing that crossed my mine is ‘you gotta be kiddin me!’. Its as if the President of the United States is planning to throw the entire world into chaos simply because he wants to. What about Tax payers? Can the United States really handle these expenses? With the Sub prime issues still in the market, and the dollar slowly inching downwards, can the U.S. government really pay for such military advances to Iran?
Then there is the historical repetition effect. In the last few decades, it seems all recession are easily solved by declaring war on a slightly weaker country. Marget Thatcher used it to direct the British Citizen’s attention somewhere else, Bush Senior used it, Clinton used it, why won’t Bush Jr.? Its not like there is a solution to fix the Sub Prime mortgage problem. But then how many countries would follow George W. Bush on this road of blood and glory?
The only country that I think would join in is Canada. However, joining the opposition could easily be any country that has Muslim in it.
I fail to see why nuclear is a bad thing for weaker countries. What makes the United States the only country allowed to manufacture Nuclear War heads? If it was simple nuclear fuel, Canada has plenty. If Pickering’s power plant were to go Chernobyl, it’d be pretty bad. Why aren’t the United States’ army marching into Ottawa forcing the Canadian Government to shut down all the Nuclear Plant?
If WW3 really is starting tomorrow, what countries do you think would join the States? What countries would Join Iran? What countries would stay idle?
